Dark Light

I have a thing about style in movies.

Directorial style is common, you can roughly tell in many cases who directed a movie. Visual style, though, is pretty much limited to the realistic with more or less explosions and blood depending on the setting.

Few movies have a distinct visual style that you can point to. Which is why Sin City, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and, as of about two hours ago, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow have entered my hall of “Favourite films”

Especially this. The shots, the lines, the references, the characters. And guns, explosions, giant monsters rampaging though New York, runs though jungle and Angelina Jolie. What more could I ask for in a film?

See Sky Captain at some point. It’s fun
